The first EU experts, who will aid Bulgaria in implementing its judicial reform, will arrive in the country by the end of May.

This was stated by the head of the European Commission representation in Bulgaria, Ognyan Zlatev.

In an interview for Darik radio on Saturday, Zlatev assured that Brussels will not impose the recommendations, with Bulgarian magistrates retaining their leading role.

According to him, the need for improving the judicial system is inarguable.

The experts will work together with representatives of the prosecutor's office and the justice ministry. They will offer their assistance on more than one occasion.

The experts will come to Bulgaria several times, with the duration of their missions ranging between five days and a month.

The idea is that Bulgaria will get to know and use the experience of countries which have faced similar problems with their judiciary.

The aim is to learn how these countries overcame their problems and to establish to what extent their experience can be applied in the Bulgarian case.
