The United States Embassy in Sofia has announced the its security message distributed to US citizens on Wednesday is "no longer in effect".

On Facebook, the Embassy praises the "proactive measures taken by the Government of Bulgaria in response to threat concerns".

Earlier on Thursday, Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov criticized the "absolutely unacceptable decision" of the US State Department to leak out the information, submitted from Bulgarian security services to the embassy.

Borisov claimed the "terror warning" for the vicinity of the "Pliska Hotel" building (nowadays housing a bank headquarters), filed after a call received by 112 emergency number, did not match reality and had been the result of an unsettled love dispute between a Bulgarian and a foreign national.

Several hours earlier, the Embassy had said on Twitter it would "not comment on ongoing investigations".

Hotel Pliska, located in the eastern Sofia neighborhood of Iztok, is an important transport hub, with a number of buses and trolleybuses stopping nearby and a tram line not far from the area.

A ten minutes' walk from it is the Fr?d?ric Joliot-Curie metro station.
