MPs from senior government partner GERB are set to meet with Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov to voice their concerns about executive offices taken by members of the DSB party.

The Democrats for Strong Bulgaria (DSB) is part of the Reformist Bloc coalition, a coalition partner to GERB, but moved into opposition in December.

However, GERB lawmakers voiced their concerns last week that DSB members continued to hold offices in the government, including ministries and agencies alike. Petar Moskov, the Health Minister, had to step down as Deputy Chair of DSB but retained his office in the government, and Defense Minister Nikolay Nenchev, who chairs the BZNS party, is said to be part of the DSB's quota.

Borisov rejected last week calls by GERB lawmakers, while he was in Brussels, to remove all DSB members from the executive, defending the work of both Nenchev and Moskov.

On Tuesday he is expected to make his case about the decision not to have the two replaced and to keep working with other DSB officials in government agencies. MPs from his GERB party maintain the situation enables DSB to be "in power" and "in opposition" at the same time, fuelling political tensions.

The issue dominates the domestic news agenda of local media outlets as of Tuesday morning.
