Preliminary Figures Show 3 % Increase in Bulgaria's GDP in 2015

According to preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute (NSI) released on Tuesday, Bulgaria's GDP exceeded BGN 86.3 B last year, which represented an increase of 3 % compared to 2014.

In the last quarter of 2015, GDP exceeded BGN 23.6 B, which represented growth of 3 % compared with the same quarter of the previous year and 0.7 % compared to the third quarter of 2015.

The Gross Value Added (GVA) in 2015 exceeded BGN 73.8 B, recording an increase of 1.5 % compared to last year.

The industrial sector accounted for 27.6 % of the value added of the economy in 2015, services represented 67.3 %, with the agrarian sector being 5.1 %

GVA exceeded BGN 20.4 B in the last quarter of last year, with the relative share of the agricultural sector in the value added of the economy decreasing by 0.1 percentage points to reach 3.7 %.

The industrial sector increased its relative share in the value added of the economy by 1.4 percentage points, reaching 25 %.

The relative share of the service sector decreased from 72.6 % to 71.3 %.

Final consumption in the last quarter of 2015, expended 75 % of produced GDP.

Investments accounted for 23.2 % of produced capital.

The balance of trade of goods and services was negative in the last quarter of 2015.

According to preliminary data, final consumption increased by 0.9 % in the last quarter of 2015, exports grew by 5.6 %, while imports increased by 3.9 %.
