Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev will begin on Monday the traditional month of political consultations with the parliamentary represented parties.
In the coming days, Plevneliev will meet in turn with the leadership of the eight parliamentary represented parties, starting from the smallest and proceeding to the largest.
The priorities of the parties for the year will be reviewed at the meetings, the presidential press service informs.
Among the topics discussed at the meetings will be the current political situation in the country and perspectives.
The participants in the consultations will also focus on measures aimed at continuing reforms in the fields of judiciary and internal order; fight against corruption; administrative reform and electronic governance; healthcare; education; pension reform and water sector reform.
They will also discuss measures towards implementation of the strategic goals and priorities set out in the national programme for development “Bulgaria 2020” and will begin preparations for its successor “Bulgaria 2030”.
At the end of the consultations, the Bulgarian head of state is expected to deliver a statement to parliament in which he will outline the priorities for the year.
On Monday, Plevneliev will hold talks with the leadership of the two smallest parliamentary represented parties – left-wing Alternative for Bulgarian Revival (ABV) and nationalist Ataka.
