The Bulgarian men's national football team dropped three positions in the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola World ranking released on Thursday.

At present, Bulgaria occupies 75th position with 494 points, being between the teams of South Africa and Zambia.

There is no change to the first eighteen positions in the ranking as only 43 matches have been played since the start of the year.

Belgium retains the top position, followed by Argentina, reigning European champion Spain, reigning world champion Germany and reigning South American champion Chile.

The bottom is occupied by six teams without a single point – Anguilla, Bahamas, Djibouti, Eritrea, Somalia and Tonga.

The best mover in the ranking is Palestine, which climbed with 21 positions, while the worst mover is Libya dropping by 24 places.

Bulgaria did not qualify for this year's European Championship in France and in the following months the team will be preparing for the 2018 World Cup qualifiers which begin in September.

Bulgaria is in one of the toughest groups together with the teams of the Netherlands, France, Sweden, Belarus and Luxembourg.

In March, the Bulgarian team will play friendly matches with Portugal and Macedonia, which will be followed by participation in the Kirin Cup in June.
