Construction of Third Metro Line Causes Changes to Traffic in Downtown Sofia

Continuing construction works on the third line of the underground in the Bulgarian capital will cause changes to traffic, with temporary traffic arrangements entering into force in parts of downtown Sofia from Monday to 1 February 2018.

As of Monday, the entrance of vehicles in the western lane of Evlogi and Hristo Georgievi boulevard in the section between Silistra and Yanko Sakazov streets is prohibited.

The passage of vehicles in both directions will be carried out in the eastern lane of the boulevard.

The penalty parking of Sofia Urban Mobility Centre located in the dividing line of Evlogi and Hristo Georgievi boulevard between Silistra and Yanko Sakazov streets will be closed.

Traffic will be one-way on Silistra street in the section between Evlogi and Hristo Georgievi boulevard and Chamkoriya street.

The paid parking lots on the eastern lane of Evlogi and Hristo Georgievi boulevard between Yanko Sakazov and Silistra streets and the western lane of Prof. Milko Bichev street between General Danail Nikolaev and Silistra streets will be closed.

There will be also changes to the route of bus lines 11, 213 and 404 in the direction of the Geo Milev, Mladost and Druzhba neighbourhoods.

The location of the bus stop at Eagles' bridge square will be changed.

The construction of the third line began on January 20, with new traffic arrangements also applicable in the area of Patriarh Evtimiy boulevard.
