Bulgarian footballer Dimitar Berbatov was handed the red card in a match between AEK Athens and Thessaloniki's PAOK in a Sunday game, local media report.
PAOK lost to AEK 0:1, ranking fourth in the Greek Super League, while the winning team retained its second place with fourt points ahead of Panathinaikos.
Berbatov, who was a halftime substitute, elbowed an opponent in the 83th minute, according to English-language Kathimerini.
He might have to skip three of his team's next matches according to the league's rules.
This is the first time Berbatov has been showed the red card in 13 months and 4 years, when he was ousted during a game of Bayer 04 Leverkusen (his team at the time) against SV Werder Bremen.
