Bulgaria's Tsvetana Pironkova Suffers Defeat in Second Round in Sydney

The highest ranking Bulgarian female tennis player Tsvetana Pironkova completed her participation at the Apia International tournament which is taking place in Sydney.

In a match from the second round, Pironkova was defeated by Belinda Bencic from Switzerland with 3:6, 3:6.

The Bulgarian conceded a break in the opening game and after recording a second break later on, Bencic claimed the first set.

After establishing a comfortable 3:1 lead in the second set, Pironkova lost five consecutive games and succumbed to her Swiss opponent.

The other Bulgarian representative in Sydney is Grigor Dimitrov, who will begin his participation at the tournament with a match against Pablo Cuevas from Uruguay.
