Bulgarian Exports to EU Increased by 9% Y/Y in January-October 2015

Between January and October 2015, Bulgarian exports to the EU amounted to BGN 24.4, which represented an increase of 9 % compared to the same period in 2014.

This is revealed by the preliminary figures of the National Statistical Institute (NSI), which were released on Monday.

The main trading partners of Bulgaria within the EU were Germany, Italy, Romania, Greece, France and Belgium, which accounted for 69.2 % of all exports to EU member states.

In October alone, Bulgarian exports to the EU amounted to nearly BGN 2.7 B, which represented an increase of 7.5 % compared to the same month in 2014.

In the first ten months of last year, Bulgarian imports from the EU amounted to BGN 27.3 B, increasing by 5.7 % compared to the same period in 2014.

The greatest volume of goods was imported from Germany, Italy, Romania, Spain and Greece.

In October alone, Bulgarian imports from the EU amounted to nearly BGN 3.1 B, recording an increase of 4.5 % compared to the same month in 2014.

In the first ten months of last year, Bulgaria's balance of trade with the EU was negative and amounted to nearly BGN 2.9 B.

The largest increase in Bulgarian exports to the EU was registered in the exports of chemical substances and products as well as mineral fuels, oils and similar products, while there was a drop in the exports of soft and alcoholic drinks and tobacco.

The largest increase in Bulgarian imports from the EU was registered in the import of soft and alcoholic drinks and tobacco, while the largest decrease was recorded in the import of mineral fuels, oils and similar products.
