Blast at Nigeria Gas Plant Kills More than 100

More than 100 people are believed to have been killed by an explosion of gas tanker truck at an  industrial gas plant in south-eastern Nigeria on Thursday night.

A truck has been reported to have exploded as it was offloading butane cooking gas in the town of Nnewi in Anambra State, according to the BBC. People are said to have been there to refill their cooking gas cylinders in time for Christmas Eve.

According to The Associated Press, 100 bodies had been seen by the time firefighters were able to put out the fire, which is said to have raged for hours.
