Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Boyko Borisov is expected to discuss migration pressure at the EU’s external borders and their security with his British counterpart David Cameron in Sofia on Thursday.

The European Union reforms, which Britain is asking for ahead of a referendum on continued membership, will also be on the agenda of the meeting, the Bulgarian government press office announced on Wednesday.

The two heads of government are also expected to discuss matters of interest to Bulgaria and the UK, according to the announcement.

The number of EU workers in the UK hit a record high of 2.1 million people at the end of September, including 219,000 Romanians and Bulgarians. For the first time the number of workers from Bulgaria and Romania has exceeded 200,000 – also a record for the UK.

David Cameron is expected to arrive on Thursday afternoon and visit Bulgaria’s border with Turkey, part of the EU's external border, according to dnevnik.bg.
