Bulgarian public TV broadcaster BNT, host of this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest, has postponed the Opening Ceremony to next week to honour the three days of mourning in France called over the deadly attacks in Paris.

“With respect to the events in Paris, and the European-wide days of mourning, host broadcaster BNT has decided to move the Opening Ceremony of Junior Eurovision to next week,” the European Broadcasting Union said on its website.

The Junior Eurovision Song Contest  was scheduled to take place on November 15.

The running order draw will still take place on November 15 “so that the production team can begin working on the show,” said Vladislav Yakovlev, Executive Supervisor of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
