One of the suspected Paris attackers had crossed into Serbia from Macedonia on October 7 seeking asylum, Tanjug reported on Sunday.

One of the suspected terrorists, A.A., who is of interest to French security agencies, was registered at the Presevo border crossing on October 7 this year, where he formally sought asylum, the news agency said, citing a statement of the Serbian Interior Ministry.

“It was determined that his data matched those of the person registered in Greece on October 3,” Tanjug said

No Interpol warrant has been issued against this person.

Presevo lies at Serbia’s border with Macedonia. Asylum seekers arriving from Turkey in Greece transit through Macedonia and Serbia en route to Hungary, Croatia and Slovenia, from where they try to reach western Europe.
