Protesters booed Romanian President Klaus Iohannis as he visited the participants in the demonstrations in Bucharest on Sunday.
Iohannis went to University Square on the sixth day of protests to talk to participants in the demonstrations.
Upon his arrival in the area of the Intercontinental Hotel, a great bustle was generated as many people tried to reach and talk to the president.
Some of the protesters gave the Romanian Head of State lists with requests, AGERPRES news agency informs.
Iohannis stood in the middle of protesters for about twenty minutes, talking directly with them without delivering a speech.
Earlier on Friday, he had promised to go among protesters at the agora, but pointed out that he would announce neither hour nor day as he did not want to make a media event out of his visit.
Romania has been seized by large-scale protests after an explosion and fire at the Colectiv nightclub in Bucharest on October 30 claimed the lives of 45 people and left hundreds injured.
The protests, which initially demanded the resignation of the Romanian government and local authorities, have continued even after Prime Minister Victor Ponta submitted his resignation last week.
