Minor 2.8-Magnitude Earthquake Rocks Southwestern Bulgaria

A minor earthquake of magnitude 2.8 on the Richter scale rocked southwestern Bulgaria half an hour past midnight on Tuesday.
The earthquake occurred at a depth of ten kilometres, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) informs.
The epicentre was located four kilometres south of the town of Simitli, 19 kilometres south of Blagoevgrad and 96 kilometres south of the capital Sofia.
At present there is no information on any casualties or material damages resulting from the earthquake.
