At least thirty people have lost their lives in a twin attack in the center of Turkey's capital Ankara, Turkish authorities say.

According to Dogan News Agency cited by English-language H?rriyet, the development took place at the two sides of the exit of Ankara's main train station where a rally including supporters of the pro-Kurdish People's Democratic Party (HDP) was scheduled to begin.

The blast occurred at 10:05 local time, Anadolu Agency reports.

Reportedly, the attack was carried out by suicide bombers. In Interior Ministry data suggests the number of injured people is at least 126.

Called in by the Confederation of Public Sector Trades' Unions (KESK), a demonstration was to be aimed at urging an end to the renewed conflict with outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), whose targets Ankara started bombing in the summer, virtually ending a two-year ceasefire.

An urgent security meeting, called by PM Ahmet Davutoglu, is due on Saturday to discuss the incident.
