Bulgaria and Tunisia have the right tools to develop good cooperation, Bulgarian Labor Minister Ivaylo Kalfin has said.

Kalfin is on a visit to Tunisia on Friday and Saturday, where he is meeting lawmakers and ministers.

On Sunday he met Tunisian PM Habib Essid, the Labor and Social Policy Ministry of Bulgaria has said in a statement.

Bulgaria and Tunisia could work on projects in education, professional training, and social dialogue, Kalfin is quoted as saying.

According to Kalfin, during his conversation with Essid and with his counterparts (on employment and social policy respectively) both sides voiced their willingness to renew the presence of Bulgarian professionals in education and medicine.

Alongside many North African and Middle Eastern countries, Tunisia was one of the states with which Bulgaria pursued stable cooperation during the Communist years. These developments were put aside after democratic changes in 1989.
