Bulgaria, Belgium to Deepen Trade-Economic Cooperation

Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov and Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign and European Affairs Minister Didier Reynders noted on Tuesday the excellent state of trade-economic relations between the two countries.

The two met during the official visit of Reynders to Bulgaria at the invitation of Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov, the government's press service informs.

Borisov assured that Bulgaria is interested in deepening the commercial-economic cooperation with Belgium.

He also expressed Bulgaria's interest in attracting investments and the active participation of Belgian companies in the realisation of infrastructure, energy, transport, environment and telecommunications projects.

Borisov and Reynders also discussed the partnership between Bulgaria and Belgium within the EU and NATO frameworks.

In particular, they exchanged views on the refugee crisis as well as other hot topics for the EU such as the investment plan of European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker.

The two also noted the fruitful cooperation between the defence and interior ministries and the police services of the two countries.
