Deputy PM Kuneva to Discuss Bulgaria’s Bid to Join Schengen on Finland Visit

Bulgaria’s bid to join the EU’s Schengen borderless area and the increasing migratory pressure on Europe will be in the focus of a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister Meglena Kuneva and Finland’s Foreign Minister Timo Soini, the government in Sofia said on Tuesday.

Kuneva, who is in charge of European policies coordination and institutional affairs, will pay a two-day working visit to Finland starting on Wednesday.

She is also scheduled to meet Jari Lindstr?m, Minister of Justice and Employment, as well as Economy Minister Olli Rehn.

Other points of discussion will include Russia and Ukraine and the EU's global security strategy, the Finnish Foreign Ministry said on its website.
