Turkey conducted a new series of airstrikes overnight, hitting 17 suspected Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) targets in the southeastern part of the country on the border with Iran and Iraq.

According to a statement of the Turkish General Staff, the airstrikes were aimed at “terrorist targets” around the Buzul mountain and Ikiyaka region in Hakkari province.

Although the military did not specify the name of the targeted group, it is highly likely that the targets are suspected positions of the banned PKK.

Another soldier was killed in a rocket attack allegedly carried out by PKK militants on a military helicopter in Beytussebap district.

Another Turkish soldier was killed overnight in a gun attack on a military post in Sirnak, Hurriyet Daily informs.
