Bulgarian high school students have won one gold and two silver medals at the XXVII International Olympiad in Informatics in Almati, Kazakhstan.
The competition took place on July 26 – 31, 2015, according to a media statement of Bulgaria’s Ministry of Education and Science.
Hristo Venev, eleventh grade student at the Sofia High School of Mathematics "Paisii Hilendarsky", won a gold medal.
Venev wins gold for the third time in three consecutive years (2013, 2014, 2015), after starting his participation in the international competition with a silver medal in 2012.
Daniel Atanasov, eleventh grade student at the Sofia High School of Mathematics "Paisii Hilendarsky", and Encho Mishinev, tenth grade student at the High School of Mathematics "Atanas Radev" in Yambol, won silver medals.
The Bulgarian team was led by Emil Kelevedzhiev from the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) and Mladen Manev from the Technical University – Gabrovo.
The Bulgarian team returns to Sofia on August 2.
