Turkish authorities have identified the suspected perpetrator of the attack in Suruc on Monday, which claimed the lives of at least 32 people and injured hundreds.

According to the report, one of three female members of Islamic State (IS), who had crossed into Turkey in June to carry out suicide bombings, could be one of the perpetrators of the attack.

The General Directorate of Security had warned in June that three IS militants – Fadime Kurt, Ozlem Yilmaz and Nuray Demirel, could carry out a suicide bombing in Turkey.

The photo of Yilmaz has been handed out to provincial authorities together with a confidential “possible attack” briefing, Hurriyet Daily informs.

The attack targeted a municipal cultural centre in the southeastern province of Sanliurfa, where members of the Federation of Socialist Youth Associations (SGDF) were staying as part of a summer vacation.

The youth activists were helping to rebuild the Syrian town of Kobane, which has been recaptured by Kurdish forces from the IS.

Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu confirmed that IS was the primary suspect for the attack, but the militant group has not yet responded to the claims.
