3-Magnitude Earthquake Hits Southwestern Bulgaria

An earthquake of magnitude 3 on the Richter scale was registered in southwestern Bulgaria on Thursday.

The earthquake occurred at a depth of 2 kilometres, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) informs.

Its epicentre was 9 kilometres northeast of the town of Simitli, 12 kilometres southeast of Blagoevgrad and 85 kilometres south of the capital Sofia.

There is no information on any damages or casualties.

This is the second earthquake to hit Bulgaria in the past two days after the country's Black Sea coast was affected on Wednesday.
