Upon the recent news concerning the resignation of Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis, a number of EU leaders have stated their opinions.

Meanwhile, discussions on the Greek referendum results and the best steps forward in the Greek fiscal crisis are taking place all over Brussels.

Reportedly, Greek PM Alexis Tsipras has already been on the phone with President of the European Central Bank (ECB) Mario Draghi regarding the situation, Reuters reported. The former is also expected to hold a talk with Russian President Vladimir Putin later on Monday.

Spain’s Economy Minister Luis de Guindos has stated his opinion that Greece should remain a part of the Eurozone and that the Spanish government will be willing to participate in the negotiations for a possible third bailout package, The Guardian reported.

Meanwhile, ECB member and President of the National Bank of Austria’s Ewald Nowotny said that any new Greek deal will take more time. He noted that in his view reaching an agreement within two days would be hard to imagine.

European Commissioner for the Euro and Social Dialogue Valdis Dombrovskis made a statement at a news conference in Brussels, saying that the European Commission ‘’takes note of the result of the referendum in Greece’’. However, in order for the negotiations to continue, a mandate from the Eurogroup needs to be assigned.
