3 Killed in Graz as Man Drives SUV into Crowds, 5-Year-Old Bulgarian among Victims

Austria’s Graz holds a day of mourning for the three people killed by an SUV driver on Saturday in the city center.

A memorial service was held on Saturday for the three people who died in the accident.

According to reports of Austrian daily Der Standard, as cited by the Bulgarian National Radio, the youngest victim is a 5-year-old of Bulgarian origin.

34 other people were injured in the accident, with 10 people seriously hurt and at least one in critical condition.

Shortly after noon on Saturday, a man drove his SUV into the crowds on Graz’ Herrengasse. At a certain point he got out of the vehicle and started stabbing people.

The perpetrator, a 26-year-old man of Bosnian origin, was arrested.

Police have ruled out terrorism, according to preliminary reports.

Local media say that the suspect was “mentally disoriented”.
