Bulgaria’s Commission for Energy and Water Regulation (KEVR) will discuss Wednesday a proposal for an increase in electricity prices for household consumers by an average of 2% as of July.

Customers of power distributor Energo-Pro are expected to face an increase in electricity prices by around 4%, customers of power distributor CEZ should prepare for a 2% price hike, and households serviced by power distributor EVN will most probably see their bills go up by around 1%, according to reports of the Bulgarian National Radio.

The energy watchdog will also discuss a proposal for a reduction by up to 6% in prices of hot water.

Apart from that, KEVR is also to discuss heating rates as of July 1, with 6% price decreases proposed for Sofia, Burgas, and Veliko Tarnovo, a 1% decrease proposed for Plovdiv, a 0.2% drop proposed for Varna, and slight price increases proposed for Vratsa and Pleven.

The final decision of KEVR is to be taken on June 29.
