Turkey Protests Leave 100 Injured, 2 People Dead

Unexpected blasts disrupted the rally in support of pro-Kuridish People's Democratic Party (HDP) in Turkey's Diyarbekir Friday. The act was described by Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan as an act of ''provocation'', Reuters reported.

According to the initial suppositions of local police, the blasts could have been caused by a faulty power transformer. So far to people have been reported dead, including a 16-year old boy. 

However, later that version had been negated and the investigation will be continuing throughout the next several days.

"It was a heart-shaking, ribcage-shaking noise, he said of one of the blasts, " eyewitness Guy Martin told Reuters. ''The most terrifying thing is that crush of people. It was chaos, I couldn’t move, people were panicking."

Meanwhile, the rally itself had been organized in support of the growing Kurdish People's Democratic Party. Its main goal will be to secure at least 10% in the upcoming elections. If it succeeds it will be the first party with Kurdish roots to gain seats in Parliament.
