Bulgaria's national volleyball team defeated Cuba by 3:1 ( 25:19, 25:21, 24:26, 25:23) in a game from Group C of the Volleyball World Cup's Second Division, Sportal reported.

This was the second consecutive major success for the team led by coach and former exceptional player Plamen Konstantinov. The Bulgarians currently were defeated only once by the team of Canada.

Bulgaria's volleyball team played against the host from Cuba in the 2,000-people Cuidad Deportiva hall. The second game is scheduled for June 7, starting 3:40 am Bulgarian time.

Among the most effective players who helped for the win to be secured were Todor Skrimov ( with 4 aces and 48% attack effectiveness) and Nikolai Penchev ( 2 blocks, 1 ace, 53% attack effectiveness). They had 15 and 12 points respectively.

The Cuban team's best player by far was their captain Rolando Sepeda with 26 points ( 4 blocks and 52% attack effectiveness). His efforts, however, were not sufficient against the overall very strong and put together Bulgarian team.
