Monthly Inflation in Bulgaria Stood at 0.7 % in April

According to the latest figures of the National Statistical Institute (NSI), which were released on Wednesday, the monthly inflation in Bulgaria stood at 0.7 % in April.

The data showed that the inflation since the beginning of the year stood at 0.9 %, while the annual inflation amounted to 0.5 %.

Among the prices, which registered the greatest increase in April, were those of clothing and shoes and foodstuffs and soft drinks, which rose with respectively 6.2 % and 1.3 %

The prices of dwellings and public utilities increased with 0.6 %, while the prices of healthcare, education, alcohol and tobacco products all increased with 0.1 %.

Decreases were registered in the prices of entertainment and culture as well as restaurants and hotels, which dropped respectively by 0.6 % and 0.1 %.

Among the foodstuffs there were increases in the prices of rice, flour, meats, fish, eggs, apples, citrus fruits, tomatoes, cabbage, carrots, leaf vegetables, lentil, sugar, chocolate and chocolate products, coffee and fizzy drinks.

There was decrease in the prices of bread, poultry, cheese, sunflower oil, cucumbers, garlic, beans, potatoes, mushrooms, mineral water and beer.

There was increase in the prices of medicines and pharmaceutical products with 0.1 %, medical services increased with 0.5 %, while dental services retained their prices
