A Skopje-based court has ordered 30-day detention for of all of the 30 members of the armed group arrested after Saturday’s police operation in Kumanovo.

The Public Prosecution Office for organized crime and corruption, which is in charge of the investigation, completed the questionings of the 30 suspects on Monday.

The suspects have been charged with terrorist threat to the constitutional order and security and with association for the purpose of hostile activity.

Some members of the group have been charged with illegal gun possession and trade, according to kurir.mk.

The clashes between police and an armed group on Saturday left 22 people dead, including 8 police officers, and dozens of injured.

Interior Ministry Spokesperson Ivo Kotevski announced Saturday that the armed group had been planning terror attacks against state institutions.

He argued that the group of well-trained terrorists had entered Macedonia illegally from a neighboring country.

Macedonia began two days of national mourning on Sunday for the victims of the deadly clashes in Kumanovo’s Diva Naselba neighborhood.
