Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov said on Tuesday that he saw no point in carrying out reshuffles in the government.

This comes as a response to the words of the reelected leader of junior coalition partner ABV and former Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov.

Upon his reelection to ABV's leadership on Sunday, Parvanov called for reshuffles in the cabinet, pointing in particular to the ministers of defence, foreign affairs, energy and education.

Borisov stated that each party had the right to express its opinion, talk on its policies and cater for its electors, which was the essence of democracy, he said in an interview for private NOVA TV.

As regards the dismissal of 25 customs officials at the Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint, the prime minister commented that such a fate would befall anyone obstructing revenue collection.

Borisov called for more humane treatment of the immigrants arriving in Bulgaria, pointing that the end goal was to return them to their places of origin.
