Reindustrialization and technological modernization of the country, as well as more strict social policies across the country were among the key points in the political declaration summarized by the deputy head of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) Yanaki Stoilov.

The slogan of the Sunday event is ''It's time for justice'' and is being held prior to the beginning of the campaign for the eminent local elections.

The document further stated that despite the reached rights and freedoms for regular people, oligarchs are still a huge factor in Bulgarian politics, and that the ''transitional period'' of Bulgaria from a socialist to a democratic state can be deemed ''unsuccessful''.

''We cannot comply with the wild capitalism and the harmful neo-liberal course that the Borisov government has taken while the unrest and dissatisfaction with such policies has been increasing all across Europe,'' the statement said.

The declaration further opposed any ''austerity policies'' at the expense of regular people, as well as the ''unjust flat tax rate'' as opposed to '' a more justified progressive tax system''. A further demand was made for more social responsibility on the part of business.

Socialists also unified in a platform advocating equal access opportunity to primary, high school and higher education in the country, as well as more financing for education, science and culture. They emphasized the need for more funding for healthcare and more socially-oriented services.
