Two Earthquakes Measuring 3.3, 3.9 on Richter Scale Registered in SE Bulgaria

Two earthquakes were felt Thursday morning in Southeastern Bulgaria, according to the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).

The first jolt struck at 5.24 a.m. and had a magnitude of 3.3 on the Richter scale. Its epicenter was located 42 kilometers south of Yambol and 5 kilometers northeast of Topolovgrad and the depth was around 2km, according to the EMSC, as cited by the BGNES news agency.

Several minutes later, at 5:27 a.m., a second earthquake measuring 3.9 on the Richter scale was registered in the same region. The epicenter was located 6 kilometers northwest of Topolovgrad and 43 kilometers southwest of Yambol. The earthquake had a depth of 10 kilometers.
