Two Bulgarians fell victims to the bad weather conditions in different parts of the country on Monday.

Thus the total number of victims increased to five after three snowboarders were killed by an avalanche in Pirin mountain on Sunday.

A man from the village of Gorna Kula, near the southern town of Krumovgrad, was found lying dead in the snow.

The 64-year-old man had been declared missing by the mayor of the village on Sunday evening, daily Dnevnik reports.

The other victim is the former keeper of chalet Ray in Stara Planina mountain and rescuer at the Mountain Rescue Service, who died in the mountain.

He went to clear the road towards chalet Tazha, where he had been working, but had heart attack on the way back.

The signal for his death was submitted by his aide and rescuers have attempted to reach the place of the incident and retrieve the body until late on Sunday evening.

Hundreds of settlements have no electricity, some of them are experiencing water cuts and the state of emergency remains in many municipalities, mainly in Southern Bulgaria.

The Mountain Rescue Service issued a warning for high probability of avalanches in the higher parts of the mountains on Monday.

They announced that tourism conditions in the mountains were unsuitable due to the bad weather and abundant snowfall.
