Fenninger Wins First Run of World Cup Ladies Combined in Bansko

Austria’s Anna Fenninger is leading after Run 1 of the Alpine Skiing World Cup – Ladies - Combined race in Bulgaria's Bansko witn one minute 12.73 seconds, followed by overall leader Tina Maze of Slovenia with one minute 13.18 seconds.

Nicole Hosp of Austria and Switzerland’s Dominique Gisin were both third with one minute 13.32 seconds each.

Ski Queen Lindsey Vonn of the US finished 24th, stopping the clock at one minute 15.30 seconds.

Weather in Bansko has been changeable, alternating between foggy and clear spells.

Fog forced Vonn to complain to race officials about the weather conditions on Sunday, according to the AP.

"I didn't want to risk anything in the super combined. I've had too many injuries so I skied very conservatively. But, yeah, I made it to the finish," Vonn said.

The second Super G race of the women's Alpine Skiing World Cup in Bansko was called off on Saturday due to dense fog.
