Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov convened an extraordinary meeting of the four Deputy Prime Ministers and Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov on Wednesday.

The meeting lasted four hours and started shortly after the plenary sitting of parliament, daily Dnevnik reports.

The topic of discussion was the parliament's approval of the issue of new debt amounting to BGN 16 B.

During the debates in parliament, Finance Minister Goranov promised to make savings worth BGN 2 B, which ultimately altered the position of several parties, which had initially opposed the debt.

Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev revealed that the Prime Minister decided to hold the postponed meeting of the Council of Ministers, at which no decisions were taken.

The Wednesday's regular meeting of the Council of Ministers was postponed for Friday, since Borisov sent all ministers to attend the parliamentary debates on the ratification of the new debt.

Borisov himself did not appear in parliament, which he would have done only in case the debt was not approved in order to announce his resignation.
