Bulgaria’s SJC to Mull Pay Rise in Justice System

Bulgaria’s Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) will look into potential sources for a pay rise in the judicial system on Thursday.

Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov has been invited to the meetingof the supreme administrative body of the judiciary, the SJC said on its website on Monday.

According to segabg.com, the meeting is going to discuss a potential 12% increase in the salaries of the members of the judiciary but no funds have been earmarked for the purpose in the 2015 budget of the judicial system.

The salary packages in the system haven’t been updated since July 2012. Currently, the base salary of the most junior members of the judiciary is BGN 1,546, according to segabg.com.
