Bulgaria's Tsvetana Pironkova Reaches 1/8 Finals in Dubai

Bulgaria's best female tennis player Tsvetana Pironkova reached the 1/8 finals of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships.

For the first time Pironkova reached the third round of the tournament after winning against Shuai Peng from China with 3:6, 6:4, 7:6 (5) on Tuesday.

In the third round the Bulgarian is to face for the first time in her career Simona Halep from Romania, who is top seeded.

The match between the two, which is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, will constitute the opening game from the evening session at the central court.

Pironkova struggled against Peng in a match that lasted nearly three hours, while Halep defeated easily Daniela Hantuchova from Slovakia with 6:2, 6:0.
