Baku Ready To Host First European Games

The first in history European Games will take place in the capital of Azerbaijan between June 12 and 28, 2015.

The President of the European Olympic Committees Patrick Hickey announced on Friday that Baku is completely ready to organize the first ever edition of the sports forum, BGNES information agency reported.

He made the statement at the regular inspection regarding the progress Azerbaijan has made on the preparation of the games, adding that the hosts have done an incredible job so far to make sure both participants and the audience will enjoy the events.

The total budget of the program is over EUR 1 B.

Bulgaria has won 109 athlete quotas for the games, with wrestlers in 23 categories, and both men's and women's national volleyball teams.

Athletes can also win quotas for the Olympic Games in Rio 2016 in 11 sports.
