Bulgaria's top female player Tsvetana Pironkova was defeated in the first round of the BNP Paribas Fortis Diamond Games in Antwerp.

Pironkova was defeated by the Dutch Indy De Vroome with 7:5, 3:6, 3:6, who recorded a victory in her first appearance at a tournament of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA).
