Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev is to visit the Czech Republic and Poland on Monday to take part in the Holocaust remembrance ceremonies there, his press office says.

Plevneliev is also to attend a Tuesday forum in Prague dedicated to the memory of Holocaust victims during World War Two. The event is called "Let My People Live!", and the President is to address the Sessions of Heads of State along with other leaders.

He will also take part in a "Rally of Silence" in Krakow, Poland, to mark the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp.

The Holocaust Remembrance Day, January 27, commemorates the WWI genocide carried out by the Nazi regime that caused the death of about 6 million Jews, 1 million Roma people, 250 000 mentally and physically disabled people, and 9 000 homosexual men.
