Bulgaria's Tsvetana Pironkova Crashes Out of Australian Open

Tsvetana Pironkova was defeated by Dominika Cibulkova in an Austrian Open match played Thursday.

Cibulkova, last year's Australian Open finalist, beat Bulgaria's top female tennis player 6:2, 6:0, thus having achieved a total of eight victories against Pironkova.

The only success of the Bulgarian player against her Slovak opponent was during the 2012 London Olympics, with 7:6(4), 6:2.

Pironkova is now leaving Australian Open for a tenth time. Six of her attempts have ended with a defeat in the second round.
