Production in Construction in Bulgaria Down 0.5% M/M in November 2014

Production in the construction sector in Bulgaria decreased by 0.5% on the month in November 2014, following a decrease by 1.6% in October, according to initial estimates of Eurostat.

The decrease registered in November means that the construction sector in Bulgaria reported negative results in five out of the past six months, the sole exception being September 2014, when a growth rate of 2.5% was observed.

In November 2014, production in the construction sector in Bulgaria went up by 1.4% on the year, following a 2.5% uptick in October and a growth rate of 6.4% in September.

In November 2014, compared with October 2014, seasonally adjusted production in the construction1 sector fell by 0.1% in the euro area (EA18) and by 0.2% in the EU28.

In October 2014, production in construction grew by 1.1% and 0.5% respectively.

In November 2014, compared with November 2013, production in construction grew by 2.2% in the euro area and by 2.5% in the EU28.

The decrease of 0.1% in production in construction in the euro area in November 2014, compared with October2014, is due to building construction falling by 0.2% and civil engineering by 0.1%.

In the EU28, the decrease of 0.2% is due to building construction falling by 0.2% while civil engineering grew by 0.1%.

The increase of 2.2% in production in construction in the euro area in November 2014, compared with November 2013, is due to building construction rising by 2.7%, while civil engineering fell by 0.5%.

In the EU28, the increase of 2.5% is due to building construction rising by 3.3%, while civil engineering fell by 0.5%.
