Bulgaria’s Industrial Production Index Up 0.9% Y/Y in November 2014

The seasonally adjusted Industrial Production Index increased by 0.4% in November 2014 on the month, according to preliminary data of Bulgaria’s National Statistical Institute (NSI).
In November 2014, the working day adjusted Industrial Production Index went up by 0.9% on the year.
Monthly increases in the seasonally adjusted Industrial Production Index were registered in the mining and quarrying industry by 0.9%, in the manufacturing by 0.7% and in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply by 0.2%.
The largest increases in output in the sphere of manufacturing were registered in the repair and installation of machinery and equipment by 26.7%, in the production of leather and related products by 16.9%, in the production of machinery and equipment by 10.6%, in the printing and reproduction of recorded media by 8.1%.
Decreases were registered in the production of chemicals and chemical products by 12.9%, in the production of basic metals by 11.4%, in the production of textiles by 8.1%, and in the production of other transport equipment by 5.7%.
In November 2014, the working day adjusted Industrial Production Index went up by 3.5% on the year in manufacturing, while the mining and quarrying industry recorded a decrease by 7.6%, and the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply fell by 1.6% over the same period.
In the sphere of manufacturing, the largest annual increases were registered in the repair and installation of machinery and equipment by 51.7%, in the production of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers by 35.9%, in the production of leather and related products by 28.8%, in the printing and reproduction of recorded media by 20.1%.
The production of basic metals fell by 16.7%, the production of wood and wood products, except furniture, dropped by 9%, and the production of wearing apparel shrank by 8.9%.
