English rock and blues singer Joe Cocker died of lung cancer at the age of 70 on Monday in Crawford, Colorado.

His agent Barrie Marshall said Cocker was “without the doubt the greatest rock/soul voice ever to come out of Britain and remained the same man throughout his life."

The Sheffield-born singer released 40 albums during a career which lasted over 40 years, according to reports of Fox News.
He won a number of awards, including a 1983 Grammy Award for his "Up Where We Belong", a duet with Jennifer Warnes.

His most memorable songs include a cover of the Beatles hit “With a Little Help from My Friends”, “You Are So Beautiful”, “Feelin' Alright” and “Up Where We Belong.”

Cocker received an OBE (Order of The British Empire) in 2011 for his contribution to music.
