Interpol has included Petko Sertov, former head of Bulgaria’s State Agency for National Security (DANS), in its list of missing persons.

Sertov has been missing since 6 pm on Friday.

Police have started a nationwide search for him.

The signal for his disappearance was submitted by his wife.

Sertov’s mobile phones have been left at home and there has been no connection with him since then.

Interior Minister Veselin Vuchkov told journalists that there had been no evidence so far of a crime committed against Sertov.
Vuchkov’s statement was backed by the Chief Secretary of the Interior, Svetlozar Lazarov.

The Interior Ministry will present its activities on the case at a press conference on Wednesday.
