New Book Tells of Ethnic Bulgarians’ Plight in Macedonia After WWII

A long-awaited book by Temelko Neshkov portraying the sufferings of ethnic Bulgarians in the territory of the former Yugoslav republic of Macedonia after WWII has left the printing press.

“No parting. Macedonia vs Macedonism” is an emotionally moving account of the personal drama of the author intertwined with the tragic events involved in the forced assimilation of ethnic Bulgarians after 1945.

Neshkov, who himself had been persecuted by Macedonian authorities for his defence of Bulgarian national identity, has presented a broad picture of widespread resistance against attempts to obliterate any sign of Bulgarian ethnicity.
