The proposed reforms are part of the common strategy on judicial reform, which had been presented by the Ministry of Justice, the website of the prosecutor's office reports.

Commisioner Jourova expressed particular interest to Tsatsarov's proposals for the decentralisation of the Bulgarian prosecution and greater responsibilities for local prosecutors.

Jourova supported the ideas presented by Tsatsarov and his deputy Penka Bogdanova.

During their meeting, Tsatsarov and Jourova discussed the implementation of the recommendations to Bulgaria contained in the last two reports under the Mechanism for Cooperation and Verification (CVM).

The Prosecutor's Office extended an invitation towards Commissioner Jurova for a visit to Bulgaria during next year.
