"Bulgaria could swell with anger" a Russian MP wrote on Twitter to comment on the South Stream project's demise.

"The end of South Stream: Bulgaria could swell with anger, and the EU can be congratulated on the increased dependence of Ukrainian transit," his message reads.

Aleksey Pushkov, who heads the State Duma's foreign policy committee, made his remark a few days after Moscow's decision to abandon the South Stream project announced on Monday evening.
